The countdown has started to the opening of the new multi-million pound Leicester Community Sports Arena!

And today its new Chief Executive starts work.

Simon Ricketts will be trying to make sure that everything is right for the big launch - expected to take place at the end of the month.

The Arena will be the new home for the Leicester Riders basketball team, but will also be used by Leicester college and the local community.

Almost 拢5,000,000 has been spent on the new facility - on the old gasworks site at Charter Street.
