George Burley says Ipswich Town were victims of their own success when they gained promotion to the Premiership in 2000.

Town finished fifth in their first season back in the top-flight and qualified for the UEFA Cup.

But despite going on to some memorable nights in Europe, they were relegated the following season.

Burley told 大象传媒 Radio Suffolk's Mark Murphy the club would have been better off finishing lower down the league in their first season.
