To be diagnosed with cancer at any age is a shock, but when you're a teenager or a young adult, living with the effects of the disease can be very difficult.

That's why a new scheme has been launched here in Leicestershire, to give emotional and practical support to people between 18 and 30.

The charity Macmillan has joined up with the East Midlands Teenage and Young Adult Integrated Cancer Service and De Montfort University - to tackle the isolation and loneliness the disease can cause.

Kelly Burfoot from Aylestone in Leicester was diagnosed with leukaemia five years ago when she was 17. She's been telling 大象传媒 Radio Leicester's Bridget Blair how the disease has changed her life.
