Could you run your own fire station? People in Haworth had plans to do so...but they've now been scrapped.

We've been looking at how long emergency services may take to get to the village now.

Temporary Assistant Chief Fire Officer Ian Bitcon said: "West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service was informed in the week before Christmas of our ongoing budget settlement which showed a further reduction in grant of 拢2.67m in 2016/2017 with a total grant loss of 拢7.9m (17.35%) by the end of the spending review period in 2019/20. This will bring the total grant loss to 拢25m by that point, which is an overall reduction of over 40%. Clearly at this time we are faced with developing a four year plan for our service which will allow us to manage this huge budget reduction, whilst maintaining the very best service possible to every community within West Yorkshire.

"We are continuing to seek ways in which we can work with communities, and particularly volunteers, but at this stage we are in no position to commit finances to any single scheme as we tackle the difficulties which we face. We remain committed to supporting members of the Haworth community during this period of review and hope that they are willing and able to maintain an open dialogue with us."
