DJ "Whispering" Bob Harris has paid tribute to the "incredible" David Bowie, who has died aged 69.

The Starman singer, who had been suffering with cancer for 18 months, died days after releasing new album, Blackstar.

Old Grey Whistle Test host Bob Harris, who was a friend to Bowie in his early days, said he was an "incredible, creative force" who "wanted to make a mark on the world".

"You know some artists are going to be very, very special indeed," he said. "And you just knew that about David."
