Fitt Buddies
Steve Day spent 12 months in a coma, a further 6 months in hospital and has been living in care for more than a decade. It was in 2000 when Steve was left paralysed in a serious car accident.
Steve, who used to box for a hobby, has one wish. To be able to walk again.
Despite being told he was unlikely to move again, Steve's been on a special programme called the Fitt Buddy Scheme, designed for him at Hinckley Leisure Centre. The scheme, run by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, helps people with disabilities and mental health problems to get fit and get better.
Emma Hopkins used to work at the council but now heads up the programme at the leisure centre. Richard Peason is Steve's carer. Jonathan Lampon spoke to Steve about the type of excersises he's been doing.
