Abusive 999 call recording released
A recording of a 999 caller who swore "15 times in four minutes" at a call handler trying to assist with the emergency has been released by the East of England Ambulance Service.
The service said the man had called about a genuine problem but used "extremely offensive language" while the operator tried to establish the location of the emergency.
The release comes as the service highlighted the "abusive and inappropriate calls" it has received over the last eight months, and it has asked that people use 999 correctly.
