England Lions have played a game against Pakistan A in the UAE whilst England’s under 19’s are in Bangladesh warming up ahead of the under 19s World Cup which begins later this week.
England’s blind and visually impaired side are in Australia where they are contesting their own Ashes series. They are playing eight one day matches - a mix of 50 and 20 overs - with Australia looking to retain their own replica of the famous little urn they won in England four years ago. England have made an excellent start winning the opening two ODIs. Blind cricket is an adapted version of the game that began in Melbourne in the 1920s when two factory workers improvised the game using a tin can containing rocks. The sport has come a long way since, but the principle of an audible ball remains today. Ali Mitchell has been along to meet the squad and find out a few different aspects to the game and we talk to a member of team Hassan Khan who has a remarkable story to tell .
