Ambitious plans to reclaim Leicester's towpaths are helping the city to reinvent it's image - according to one national charity.

Sustrans - which promotes travel by foot, bike, and public transport - says Leicester is creating new routes faster than any other city in the UK, making it an increasingly attractive place to live and work. It comes with work set to start next week on improving the towpaths alongside Leicester's canals - opening them up for cyclists and pedestrians between Abbey Park and Soar Island.
And Sustrans ambassador, David Clasby, has welcomed the move.

A Rutland man has been described as a "walking miracle" after he was shocked by a defibrillator 17 times and survived!

Patrick Ewing suffered a heart attack back in September and was discovered by his partner Yvonne at their home at Ashwell in Rutland. He'd stopped breathing and it was left to Yvonne to start CPR whilst the ambulance got there. Yesterday the couple were reunited with the ambulance crew and call handler that helped save his life.
