Gertrude: "Wild, but not unusual"
Stormy weather is affecting many parts of the UK and causing severe disruption in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The strongest winds have hit Shetland where a gust of a hundred and five miles an hour has been recorded.
"We've had just a few showers, on the heavy side a bit of hail, we've got a bit of snow forecast tonight but the wind has really been the predominant feature of the day," says Hugh Harrop, who runs a tourism business called Shetland Wildlife.
