"The sad decline of a massive club"
The former Aston Villa midfielder Ray Houghton says he is 鈥渄evastated鈥� by the 鈥渟ad decline鈥� of his former club.
Houghton, who finished 2nd in the Premier League with Villa in 1992/93, said they looked destined to be relegated this season.
Villa, who are bottom of the table, 10 points off safety with 15 games to play, failed to make a signing on Transfer Deadline Day, and the ex-Republic of Ireland international believes this sends out a clear message they are resigned to their fate.
