Paddy McGuire is not your average boy from Leicester.

At 8-years-old Paddy has made the decision to be a girl and wants to be known as "she" not "he". Paddy wears dresses, paints her nails and loves to imagine herself as Princess Elsa from the Disney film, Frozen - and one day Paddy hopes to become a woman.

Her story has made headlines and she's appeared in TV shows such as Channel 4's "My Transgender Kid".

Paddy is named after her Dad, Paddy senior. He's refers to her as his daughter and has described her as a normal child born with the "wrong plumbing". In January, the Chair of the Women and Equalities Committee Maria Miller said "we are failing transgender people in so many ways" and the government should take action to ensure FULL equality for trans people.

Jonathan wanted to meet Paddy and her Dad and Mum, Lorna, at their home in Eyres Monsell to see how the McGuires have adapted to Paddy's story...
