Tory rebellion over Sunday trading laws?
The government could be facing a rebellion by Conservative MPs over plans to relax Sunday trading laws in England and Wales, Stewart Jackson has said.
The Tory MP for Peterborough told the Daily Politics: "I don't think it will be massive... But it will certainly be a problem for the government with a small majority."
He said it would depend on what undertakings were made to the SNP to prevent it from voting against the legislation.
Explaining his opposition to the government's proposals, he told Andrew Neil: 鈥淚 am not convinced that there is a strong case that economic prosperity will follow from the liberalisation of shopping hours."
