Claims that Donald Trump is not a true conservative are "crap", according to the presidential candidate's co-chair Sam Clovis.

Rival candidate Jeb Bush tweeted the claim as part of an ongoing spat between the two, but Mr Clovis told Radio 4's James Naughtie "he is really the only one that stands there on the four legs of conservatism."
