Zuma to repay home revamp money
Lawyers for the South African president have told the Constitutional Court that Jacob Zuma will pay back taxpayers' money spent on improvements to his home that were not security-related. In 2014, an inquiry by an independent watchdog found Mr Zuma had benefited unduly from 18 million dollars' worth of upgrades to his ranch, but the police cleared him of any wrongdoing. Today's case against Mr Zuma has been brought by opposition parties, including the Economic Freedom Fighters, who demonstrated outside the court. Nomsa Maseko described the scene to Outside Source.
