Why #OscarsSoWhite isn't very Latino
Diversity on screen and on the awards stage is a hot topic in America right now. You have likely seen the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite. But it turns out that not only are the Oscar nominations this year devoid of African-Americans, there also is not a single Latino nominated for Hollywood's biggest prize. So far, though, there has not been much pushback from Latinos in the industry. Felix Sanchez is the co-founder and chairman of the National Hispanic Federation of the Arts, and he says that this is a classic case of Catch-22.
