Chimpanzee Groups have Traditions, too

Different behaviours are transmitted down the generations of chimpanzees in the wild

Andrew Whiten at the University of St Andrews explains how a review of 150 years of observations has revealed cultural differences and traditions between African chimpanzee populations. In their fight against the malaria-carrying mosquito, scientists a the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) in Nairobi are developing a deadly sexually transmitted fungus.
