Brian's Perfect Steak
Sirloin Steak with Caramelized Onions, Mushrooms, Rosemary & Crispy Garlic Potatoes
Serves: 2
Ingredients
2 by 6 oz Sirloin Steaks
1 Onion peeled & sliced
6 Mushrooms
4 Cloves Garlic crushed
4 Medium Potatoes peeled and diced
2 Sprigs of Rosemary
Drizzle of Rapeseed Oil
Shake of Nutmeg
Knob of Butter
Fresh ground black pepper
Method:
Heat a frying pan. While frying pan is heating add some sprigs of rosemary, 1 clove of sliced garlic and black pepper on top of the steaks. Sprinkle with fresh ground black pepper. Allow to marinade for approx. 15 minutes.
To the frying pan add rapeseed oil and a knob of butter followed quickly by the diced potatoes. As the potatoes fry add the sliced remaining garlic. Season with Nutmeg. Cook until potatoes are crispy.
Heat a pan for the steak. Add a drizzle of oil and place the steak in a pan. Do not agitate the steak. Add the sliced onion and mushrooms alongside the steak and cook for 2 minutes. Turn the steak and the onions and mushrooms, season with black pepper and a few sprigs of Rosemary.
Cook for further 2 minutes then turn heat off and allow steak to rest for 1 minute.
Serve and enjoy !!!
