2. Neil Hamilton describes the type of railway carriages used by the Belfast and Co. Down Railway
The Belfast and Co. Down Railway, like many other railway companies, was still using wooden-bodied carriages in 1945. John Bennett visited the Downpatrick and Co. Down Railway Museum to see one of these carriages. The Curator, Neil Hamilton explained their construction and how this contributed to the number of casualties.
