The Shaun the Sheep movie, which has been nominated in the Animated Feature Film category in this year's Academy Awards, was directed by Suffolk-born and bred Richard Starzak.
Mr Starzak flew out to Los Angeles earlier this week, saying he was "pretty nervous" ahead of the ceremony on Sunday night.
The film has also been nominated for the British Animation Awards.
