Tony Blackburn: "I am blaming the 大象传媒 in 1971"
Tony Blackburn has spoken to Broadcasting House on Radio 4 in his first broadcast interview since parted company with the 大象传媒 over the evidence he gave to the Dame Janet Smith inquiry.
Documents reviewed by the inquiry showed Blackburn himself had once been questioned by his bosses, in 1971, after a 15 year old girl claimed he'd seduced her. The claim was subsequently withdrawn, and police decided it wasn't true. Blackburn says it never happened and that the allegation was never even put to him.
Tony Blackburn spoke to presenter Paddy O'Connell:
"I am blaming the 大象传媒 in 1971. Now all these people are dead...The management at the 大象传媒 at the time did fall short of my standards because I should have been investigated."
