Alicia's story: Life before New Year's Day 2002
On 1st January 2002, 13 year old Alicia Kozakiewicz left her family home and "simply vanished". The man who took her had spent months befriending her as she sat at home on her family computer.
He imprisoned her, raped her and beat her.
But Alicia survived, and now she works to raise awareness about the risks of the internet.
In part one of an extended interview with Eddie Mair, Alicia described her childhood in Pennsylvania, how she was groomed online, and then stepped out of her family home and "simply vanished".
For details of organisations which can offer advice and support if you or someone you know has been the victim of grooming or any form of sexual abuse, go online to bbc.co.uk/actionnline or call the 大象传媒 Action Line to hear recorded information on 0800 077 077.
