The Cup that went missing for 30 years
The Barachin cup went missing for 30 years after it was stolen from Wilberforce House Museum, but its just turned up again!
The engraved cup was created by Hull silversmith Abraham Barachin in 1725.
Hull Museums purchased it in 1969 with the help of a grant from the Art Fund, but it was stolen in 1986 before being purchased by a collector in July 2015. They researched the provenance of the bowl and found that it matched the description of the one stolen in 1986.
