Jason and Kim: The Person, Not The Disability
Disability need be no bar to employment. Jason is the general manager of the Soap Co in Keswick - a social enterprise started in 2013 to create work experience for disabled and disadvantaged people . . . and they make soap too! Over the past two years twenty two people have benefited from the six month job placement that they offer, and one of them is twenty five year old Kim from Workington. Kim has cerebral palsy, and she has always struggled with people who can't see past her disability and see the real person underneath. . . . until that is, Jason took her under his wing, and she found a space to be herself.
