Returning to America, composer Aaron Copland's career is launched with his Organ Symphony
Part two of Leonard Slatkin's four-part profile of Aaron Copland marking the centenary of Copland's birth. The young American composer returns from Paris to New York where his Organ Symphony is premiered in 1925. This episode follows him up until 1942 and his wartime composition, Lincoln Portrait. Interviews with Copland are interspersed with excepts of his music including Organ Symphony, Piano Variations, El Sal贸n M茅xico, Billy the Kid, plus contributions from friends and colleagues.
