Lowestoft South Beach reopens
Lowestoft's South Beach has reopened this lunchtime, after 16 months of extensive repair work.
It's cost 拢3.5m, with some local traders criticising the time it's taken for the work to be completed.
As part of the improvements, 20,000 tonnes of rock were brought in from Norway to protect the sea wall.
Waveney District Council says the completion of the work allows for the full reopening of the promenade and most of the South Beach, although a small part will remain closed for safety reasons for the foreseeable future.
