African Traditional Religions
Africa's sacred beliefs, how they evolved, and the influence that remains today.
Episode five - Africa's sacred beliefs, how they evolved, and the influence that remains today.
Africa's religious traditions were the foundations on which many of its societies were based, and governed both the daily lives of individuals and the organisation of people. But how did the faiths evolve, and what form of devotion was practised?
"I would say there was a spiritual landscape of divine beings, human being, and nature, and interaction with the spiritual world was essential to the religious sensitivities of African people." Professor Elom Dovlo, University of Ghana.
Presented by Hugh Quarshie.
