Episode twelve - how African art is a window into the past.

Exploring the rock paintings of the San of the Kalahari and the Saharan Berbers, Congolese throwing knives, the wooden stools of the Ashanti and the masks of the Dogon, highly sophisticated art forms that evolved over thousands of years.

"It's our form of history book. Even in those days, when writing was not known, our art works tell people what sort of history we have and how history has been documented." Dr Omotoso Eluyemi, director of Museums and Monuments of Nigeria.
