Hinckley Hospital

"We need to protect our local hospital at all costs."

That's the emphatic message from campaigners in Leicestershire as uncertainty grows over Hinckley and District Hospital.

The Victorian hospital built in 1899 sits in the heart of the town and, according to the NHS website, caters for patients with heart issues, diabetes and some surgeries.

But health bosses have described some of its services as not fit for purpose, and a consultation is due on its future this summer.

No decision has yet been made but many in the town are worried it could mean the hospital's end.

One of them has been speaking to 大象传媒 Radio Leicester's Manish Verma.
