Alexandra Burke with Jonathan Lampon

Jonathan Lampon chats to X Factor Winner, Alexandra Burke.

Alexandra Burke is one of the most successful winners of the reality TV singing competition The X-Factor.

Since leaving the show in 2008 she's gone on to have two hit albums, a string of awards and nominations and is now appearing on stage in hit musicals. Most recently she plays Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard which is currently touring De Montfort Hall. The role was originally made famous by Whitney Houston whose song "I will always love you" went on to international acclaim. Alex won't stop there. She's back this summer in Leicester playing the lead in the musical Sister Act, directed by Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood. She'll put her own spin on the role of Deloris Van Cartier orginally made famous by Whoopi Goldberg.

There's no doubt Alexandra's win on the X Factor helped propel her musical career. But she was always destined to do well. Her mother was the lead singer with Soul II Soul and she was once offered a music deal by Stevie Wonder.

Between rehearsals she came to visit us at 大象传媒 Radio Leicester to tell Jonathan Lampon more about her role.
