Varoufakis: UK's best interest to remain in EU

Yanis Varoufakis was reportedly one of the people who prompted Jeremy Corbyn to change his mind on whether the UK should remain a member of the EU.

On the day the Labour leader explained why he would be campaigning "to keep Britain in Europe", the former Greek finance minister and now Labour advisor said he wanted the UK to be part of a movement that would "democratise" and "confront" Brussels.

Warning about the consequences of a Brexit, he said, "you're not going find the path that would lead you to where you would have been had you not entered".

He also said a vote to leave the EU would lead to the "destabilisation" of Europe.
