Kuwaiti professor charged with blasphemy
Kuwait is often described as semi-democratic. Its parliament is elected and anyone over the age of 21 can vote.
Sheikha al Jassem has been charged with blasphemy after she said the constitution should be above the Quran and Islamic law when it comes to governing the country. The philosophy professor from Kuwait University explained why she spoke out.
