Steel union welcomes government intervention on Tata

The UK and Welsh governments have said they are prepared to own a 25% stake in any deal done to buy out Tata Steel's loss-making UK operations.

Ministers say they're offering a package worth hundreds of millions of pounds to potential buyers, to secure the long-term future of the plants.

John Park, the assistant general secretary of the steelworkers' union Community, told Eddie Mair it was a welcome commitment.
