Opera looks at final night of President JFK's life
A new opera which looks at the last night that US President John F Kennedy was alive has premiered at Fort Worth Opera Festival in Texas.
The president and his wife, Jackie Kennedy, stayed at Fort Worth's Hotel Texas (Hilton Fort Worth) on the eve of his assassination.
"The opera in many ways is an antidote to the fetishisation of what happened in Dallas," explained the director, Thaddeus Strassberger, "we can't always look at history looking backwards, I think it is really helpful to see a hope and an optimism that can take place before a tragedy," he added.
