I inspired the next generation of African scientists
Leading medical research scientist Dr Tumani Corrah is an Outlook Inspiration nominee for his work on treating infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and malaria in his home country of Gambia. As the long-running director of the Medical Research Council in Banjul, he devoted his career to training and mentoring the next generation of young African scientists – so much so that when he retired, a group of former students organised a surprise farewell party and they all came wearing T-shirts emblazoned with his face.
