This month the winner of the prestigious Man Booker International Prize will be announced. Weekend is featuring all six of the shortlisted books before the winner is made public.

A Strangeness In My Mind is a huge door-stopper of a novel written by the Turkish Nobel Laureate Orhan Pamuk. It tells the story of Mevlut Karatas, a man who sells yoghurt and boza, a mildly alcoholic drink, on the streets of Istanbul. It spans forty years, reflecting many of the changes which have occurred in Turkey over this period.
Orhan Pamuk spoke to the 大象传媒's Razia Iqbal when the book was first published.
