The Winter Wanderer
The Anglo-Saxon Wanderer is a lonely, melancholy figure facing winter sorrow on his own. He believes that warmth and summer will come in the afterlife. The Wanderer can be seen as representing everyone on earth, wandering for the short span of a life, through winter.
