Senior Democrats have urged Bernie Sanders to call it a day and end his battle with Hillary Clinton to become the party's candidate in the US presidential election.

Mrs Clinton has all but declared victory and Senator Sanders is under pressure to concede defeat so the Democratic Party can unite against the Republican presumptive nominee, Donald Trump.

But Larry Sanders says the party hierarchy must appreciate what his brother stands for.
