I was Uganda鈥檚 first female war reporter covering the LRA
Outlook Inspirations nominee Gloria Laker Aciro was a teenager during the 1990s when her hometown Gulu, in northern Uganda, was immersed in the conflict between the government forces and the Lord鈥檚 Resistance Army rebels. Her family was displaced, some were even abducted and killed.
Gloria's passion for journalism led her to becoming the first female journalist to cover this conflict from the field. She now runs the Peace Journalism Foundation of East Africa where she continues to report on the post-war recovery and development of northern Uganda. Gloria tells Jo Fidgen about how, as a child, she first developed an interest in current affairs.
