Ann and Alan: Maternal Instinct
When her hormones kicked in Ann had to have a baby, but Alan is happy to be childfree. Alan is content with his two cats, a boyfriend and a dog called Dash, but contrast this with Ann who recently got married and tries to live the good life in deepest Cumbria. When she's not looking after her menagerie of animals and a huge garden she's busy raising not one, but two children. . . . indeed if she'd been younger she'd have had more. Surprising really, when raising families was the furthest thing on both their minds when they were drinking and travelling companions in Carlisle in the eighties.
