The long jump on blades: advantage or not?
Markus Rehm is a long jumper who wants to compete at the Olympics on his blades, but will he be allowed to?
To do so, he must prove that his blades give him no advantage over able-bodied athletes.
This comes after a scientific study came back inconclusive on whether a carbon-fibre prosthesis gives him an unfair advantage.
South African amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius successfully campaigned to take part in the Olympics and Paralympics in London four years ago.
His compatriot, and fellow amputee sprinter Arnu Fourie is a great admirer of Rehm's but he's in two minds as to whether Rehm should compete at the Olympics.
