In the world of Turnarounds a new breed of corporate doctor has appeared over recent years. They are brought in to tend to critically ill businesses and, as in the world of emergency medicine, vital signs need to be assessed double quick to stabilise the patient before they flat-line. Malcolm McKenzie works for the turnaround management company Alvarez and Marsal whose first job when he comes into an ailing corporation is to look around and see what costs can be cut.
