Patrick Vieira: World Cup 1998 United France
France World Cup winner Patrick Vieira says winning the World Cup in 1998 united his country.
The ex-Arsenal midfielder, who also lifted the European Championship in 2000, says their triumph in 1998 was very significant for the nation:
"French people live together and accept each other, (and winning the World Cup) I think, we put it to a different level and this is the type of message football can send."
He also says that despite the recent terror attacks in Paris and the possible threats, France will work hard to make the tournament a success and one that the fans can enjoy.
