Meet Cambodia's first female long distance Olympian in Rio
Marathon runner Nary Ly is set to become Cambodia's first female long distance Olympian when she competes in Rio in August.
It is of course a huge personal milestone for anyone.. But for Ly, who escaped to France as a nine year old from the Kamer Rouge, it also marks an important step for her country where attitudes to women in sport have modernised at a painfully slow rate.
At 42, Ly will be one of the oldest competitors in athletics most gruelling event, but like other barriers she has overcome, including having to give up her job to run, she remains undeterred.
