Syrian schoolteacher: children are starving in Darayya

The United Nations is to ask the Syrian government to allow airdrops of humanitarian aid into besieged areas of the country.

Darayya is just eight kilometres south west of the centre of the capital, Damascus, but it hasn't received any food aid for at least three years.

The charity Save the Children managed to record a telephone interview with a schoolteacher there. She says children are starving and it's hard to describe just how much suffering there is. But she isn't sure that airdrops are the answer.
