Why do we contribute more to the EU than France?

Listeners have a lot of questions about the European Union and the UK's referendum on whether to leave or remain.

PM asked the 大象传媒's Europe correspondent Chris Morris and Assistant Political Editor Norman Smith to answer a selection.

Norman Smith answers Pete Keyes' question: "I understand that the UK's current contributions to the EU have their roots in the original conditions imposed when we first joined. But please could you explain why, even allowing for Margaret Thatcher's rebate, we still contribute more to the EU than France?"
