What does a spider silk violin sound like?
Luca Alessandrini and Joanna Burnheart discuss what makes a spider silk violin so special
Luca Alessandrini, a post-graduate student on the Innovation, Design and Engineering course run jointly by the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial college and the Royal College of Art, has created a violin made from a mix of spider's silk and thread from silk worms.
Mr Alessandrini explains the creation and violinist Joanna Burnheart compares the sound with her own wooden violin.
