Attacks in Nice, Countesthorpe's Teenager Problem & a 100% School Attendance Record

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

In France at least eighty people have been killed after a lorry was driven at high speed into crowds celebrating Bastille Day in Nice. Several children are among the dead and around twenty people are thought to be seriously injured. The driver was shot dead by police.

Groups of teenagers in a part of Leicestershire will not be able to go into large areas of their own village from today, as new powers are introduced. After months of public meetings and consultation, Blaby District Council is introducing a Public Space Protection Order in Countesthorpe.

The last day of the school year is always a very happy time for students as they break up for the long summer holidays, but one Leicester pupil has even more of a cause to celebrate today. That's because in 8 years of education, 11-year old Ayman Abow has never missed a day of school!
