How can you deter teenagers from smoking?
Around the world more than one in ten 13 to 15 year olds smokes cigarettes so there鈥檚 a push to deter people from starting in the first place. An American study has shown that hiding cigarettes behind the counter in shops does seem to put people off buying them. Dr Bill Shadel, who鈥檚 a senior behavioural scientist at the RAND Corporation, told Health Check鈥檚 Caitlin Sneddon why they carried out the work.
