Russian adventurer's record-breaking icy dive

In March this year, in the freezing north of Russia two men cut a hole in the thick sea ice and descended 102 metres to set a new world record for the deepest dive under ice.

One of the divers, 47-year-old Alexander Gubin, is also an underwater photographer. His thirst for extreme conditions has taken him beyond cold seas and icy lakes, to warm rivers and swamps all over the world.

He's been diving for 30 years and told Matthew Bannister how he fell in love with underwater life.
